Tonight we had the privilege, and I do mean privilege, to meet Little Miss “L”. She was born last week to two very good friends of ours from college, and she has a big day tomorrow — she has heart surgery to go through. This rings so particularly true to us, having been through many of the same trials and tribulations with our oldest almost 6 years ago. Now, 15 surgeries later, I can watch my very happy almost-Kindergartener run through the house and boss her sister around, and it seems like an eternity ago that we were there, the night before heart surgery, with our own baby. Standing there tonight, though, watching the three of them and all the doctors, nurses, and therapists hovering around, so much came flooding back. I pray for them all to have the easiest, safest journey through doctors and hospitals in the years ahead. I pray for them peace. Be safe, little one —
