This little guy was on track to be the sleepiest, quietest, most laid back newborn I’ve ever taken photos of.
And then - he woke up.
And I’d bet he’s still awake.
And he might go back to sleep next Thursday.
For his parents’ sake, I hope he did decide to sleep again, because they also have big brother...
Over the last several years, I’ve had plenty of memorable photo shoots. I had one child fall in a pond as we were leaving a location, I had one child relieve himself in a fountain in downtown Bryan, I’ve shot in both a NICU and a PICU, and I’ve shoot on location at both 38...
The last time I saw this little guy
He looked a lot more like THIS little guy
Meet little brother.
What a doll.
Little Miss “A” got here a little ahead of schedule - while we were in Florida at Disney World, to be exact. But despite our trip and the holidays, we manage to squeeze in a newborn session with her, and once she got to sleep, she was as good as gold!
This is five year old M1.
AKA - Mr. Cheese. Always ready to mug for the camera.
This is his brother - M2.
M1 - Mr. Cool.

(Such is a day in the life for someone who shoots photos of children.)
But - despite all that - there were a lot that actually didn’t look like outtakes!
I’m not so sure Mom had these green boots in mind for the photos, but hey - sometimes you do whatcha gotta do, right? The joys of shooting photos of kids!
What do you get when you shoot photos of a two year old and a three year old at the same time? A little bit (or a lot) of chaos! And some good photos mixed in!
I have a bunch that are similar to this last one, and I couldn’t decide which I liked best....
Last year we had to shoot photos for this family in the PICU at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital. This year we got to do it at HOME. What a change! Little sister managed to stay out of the hospital for us this year - a trend I surely hope continues.
I am honored to take photos...
